As a senior software developer, you will bridge the gap between technical system specifications, back-end web services, security protocols, and relational database architectures. Operating fully onsite in Toronto, you will lead full-lifecycle software development—authoring clean Java code, building RESTful web services, optimizing database performance, and implementing microservices design principles. Execute unit testing, system integration testing, performance debugging, and software refactoring to ensure application reliability.
Resolve and troubleshoot complex technical problems, software bugs, and system bottlenecks during deployment, conversion, and migration phases.
Conduct impact assessments, code reviews, and design walkthrough sessions with technical leads and project team members.
Author comprehensive user and technical system documentation, including programming specifications, deployment guides, and API documentation.
Provide post-implementation support, operational guidance, and technical assistance to ensure smooth system performance.
Qualifications
Core Technical & Software Engineering Requirements
Software Development Tenure: Minimum 10+ years of hands-on experience as a designer and developer for large-scale, multi-client web applications.
Java & Relational Databases: Minimum 10+ years of hands-on Java development experience integrated with Oracle or SQL databases.
API Development: Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience developing REST APIs and RESTful WebServices.
Security Protocols: Practical knowledge of security gateways and protocols, including JWT, OAuth2.0, and SSL Certificate management.
Architecture & Tooling: Deep understanding of microservices architecture, object-oriented design patterns, clean code principles, and Azure DevOps.
Methodologies: Solid understanding of Agile, Scrum, and Rapid Application Development (RAD) methodologies.
Preferred Assets & Domain Experience
Database Tuning & Shell Scripting: Experience with SQL tuning, partition tables, PL/SQL, Unix shell scripting, and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI).
