Defect Prevention: Lead "Shift Left" strategies to identify and mitigate software risks during the earliest stages of development.
Risk Analysis: Support Failure Mode Analysis (FMA) and conduct deep-dive Root Cause Analysis (RCA) on warranty and field issues using 8D, Fishbone, and 3-legged 5-Why methodologies.
Design Reviews: Lead software design and joint engineering reviews to ensure strict compliance with architectural and quality standards.
Process Excellence: Define and improve methods for software verification and validation, ensuring alignment with ASPICE and ISO 26262 (Functional Safety).
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve systemic issues in connected gateways and telematics.
Knowledge Leadership: Coach engineering teams on best practices for software quality, functional safety, and cybersecurity.
Qualifications
Required:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience: 7+ years of software engineering experience within the Automotive Industry, specifically focused on quality, warranty, or V&V.
Embedded Knowledge: Strong understanding of embedded software (C/C++, AUTOSAR) to effectively evaluate technical risks.
Safety Standards: Proven experience implementing ISO 26262 Functional Safety and performing Failure Mode Analysis (FMA).
Problem Solving: Mastery of Root Cause Analysis (SQA/SQC) for Electronic Control Units (ECUs).
Preferred:
Process Maturity: Knowledge of ASPICE assessments and ISO 9001 standards.
Modern Tooling: Experience with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing frameworks.
Security & Compliance: Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and open-source software compliance.
