Responsibilities
Provide expert guidance on testing strategies, test plans, testing tool selection, and resource requirements across complex web application environments.
Plan and organize end-to-end testing efforts in GUI and non-GUI environments, including functional, systems integration, regression, security, performance, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Analyze business requirement documents, user stories, use cases, and system response documentation to create comprehensive test plans, scenarios, and test data strategies.
Author, execute, and maintain automated test scripts using frameworks such as Selenium or SoapUI, integrating automated testing suites into Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
Identify, document, log, and prioritize software defects using enterprise management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or IBM ClearQuest.
Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and technical leads to reproduce issues, participate in defect triage, and verify bug fixes.
Conduct backend data validation and database testing by writing and executing SQL queries to verify data accuracy, integrity, and transformation.
Perform digital accessibility testing adhering to Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) standards and guidelines.
Participate actively in Agile/DevOps ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.
Maintain comprehensive documentation of test results, test coverage metrics, release input, and user manuals.
Qualifications
Core Requirements & Testing Experience
Agile/DevOps Quality Assurance Tenure: 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing and executing comprehensive testing strategies for web applications within Agile (Scrum/Kanban) and DevOps delivery frameworks.
Public Sector & Healthcare Integration: Demonstrated experience working with federal, provincial, or broader public-sector healthcare providers, including experience integrating clinical IT systems such as Client and Provider Registries.
Test Case Design & Execution: Expertise in authoring, organizing, and executing detailed test cases, scenarios, and scripts covering functional, non-functional, regression, performance, and security testing requirements.
Defect Management & Triage: Proficient in using enterprise defect tracking tools (Jira, MS Azure DevOps, IBM ClearQuest, HP ALM) to log, monitor, and manage software defects through to resolution.
Automated Testing & CI/CD Integration: Extensive hands-on experience using automated testing tools (Selenium, SoapUI, Postman, UFT) and integrating scripts into modern version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps).
Backend Data Validation: Demonstrated proficiency writing SQL queries to validate database integrity, examine test data, and verify backend integrations.
