As a Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist, you will bridge the gap between software development engineering, business analysis, and release management. Operating fully onsite in Toronto, you will lead end-to-end quality assurance strategies across GUI and non-GUI environments, build automated UI and API test scripts, conduct performance/load testing, and ensure digital solutions adhere to strict accessibility standards. This position demands a technical QA authority with extensive experience in manual and automated testing frameworks, database validation, and cloud environments who can accelerate release delivery while maintaining software excellence.

Assignment Type: Onsite (5 days per week)

Responsibilities
Provide expert advisory on testing strategies, comprehensive test plans, testing tool selection, and resource allocation for enterprise initiatives.
Plan, organize, and execute testing efforts across Graphical User Interface (GUI) and non-GUI environments, including system integration, functional, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
Design, build, and maintain automated test scripts and regression test suites using tools such as Selenium and Postman for REST API validation.
Develop and execute performance, stress, and load testing scripts using JMeter or LoadRunner to analyze system bottlenecks and scalability.
Perform backend database testing, authoring complex SQL queries in Oracle and SQL Server to validate data integrity, transformations, and migration consistency.
Identify, isolate, document, track, and validate software defects through resolution utilizing Jira, Azure DevOps, or ALM.
Integrate automated test suites into continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, Git, or GitLab.
Ensure all application interfaces and digital components conform strictly to AODA regulations and digital accessibility standards.
Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and project leads within Agile/Scrum and Waterfall delivery frameworks to clarify requirements.
Maintain comprehensive QA documentation, including test coverage matrices, execution reports, quality metrics, and release notes.
Qualifications
Core Technical & Quality Assurance Requirements
Quality Assurance Tenure: Minimum 10+ years of professional experience in software testing within enterprise-level IT environments and large-scale systems.
Manual & Automated Testing: Proven hands-on experience in both manual testing methodologies and automated testing tools/frameworks.
API & Automation Tooling: Direct experience utilizing test automation tools such as Selenium and Postman for API testing.
Performance Testing: Demonstrated experience executing load and performance tests using tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or similar utilities.
Defect Management: Hands-on experience using defect tracking platforms like Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM, or Bugzilla.
Accessibility Compliance: Extensive experience conducting AODA testing and ensuring digital accessibility compliance.
Database & Cloud Knowledge: Strong database testing skills (SQL, Oracle) and working knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS).
Preferred Assets & Technical Capabilities
CI/CD Integration: Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and integration tools (Jenkins, Git, GitLab).
Scripting Languages: Understanding of scripting or programming languages (Python, JavaScript, C#) for test automation or data setup.
Public Sector Standards: Prior experience with public sector QA standards and testing practices is considered an asset.
