Responsibilities
1. Preparing mainframe capacity assessments to application development and infrastructure teams for project related workload changes.
2. Provide and document incident analysis, resolution, and prevention, designing procedures and best practice techniques, using IBM and ISV online tools for opening and managing incident report tracking and resolution. You will participate in Mainframe DR Hardware installation project activities along with actively participating in periodic disaster recovery exercises, maintaining disaster recovery readiness of systems, and monitoring status of systems to proactively prevent incidents.
3. Plan, configure and support installation of new Mainframe hardware platform
4. Collaborate with internal business partners in IT Operations, application development, Infrastructure, and IT Production Support to accomplish organizational goals that are consistent in supporting both IT and Business objectives. You will work directly with Hardware and Software vendors on solutions, build your network, and deepen existing relationships. You will leverage your verbal, written, and presentation communication skills to build strong partnerships.
5. Provide migration support for Mainframe software, networking components
6. Provide decommissioning support for Mainframe software and program products
7. Daily operational changes, Incident/problem management. Provide on call/standby support when required. Closure of tickets in a timely manner, Keeping clients/management up to date on ticket status.
Must adhere to Service Level Agreement (SLA) metrics, device maintenance. Providing technical MOP for all changes, ability to provide acquire system captures and articulate/document capture and point or root cause.
8. You can demonstrate a minimum of 7 years' experience in Mainframe Performance/Capacity Management roles. You also have
o Experience with interactive capacity management tools including MICS, RMF and other ISV tools.
o Strong understanding and can demonstrate experience working with SMF data.
o Performed capacity requirement assessments for CPU upgrades and refreshes including the ability to perform ‘what-if’ impact models.
o Past experience reconciling mainframe billing for ISV workloads.
o Experience performing complex calculations to estimate workload impacts in terms of MIPS and/or MSUs across a multi-partitioned environment.
o Understand zIIP utilization.
o Experience with SAS Programming.
o Ability to proactively identify CPU cost-savings opportunities.
o A firm understanding of IBM Mainframe CPU concepts including CBUs and CoD, and you can configure mainframe tools such as MICS, RMF to build reports and view data from these tools.
Qualifications
Must Have:
