Responsibilities
- Assess and process underwriting cases for life, critical illness, and disability insurance
- Improve turnaround times and contribute to performance objectives (targeting a 5–7 day reduction)
- Ensure quality, consistency, and compliance in underwriting decisions
- Collaborate with managers and internal teams on day-to-day operational follow-up
- Participate in continuous improvement of underwriting processes and tools
- Support effective management of case volumes and adherence to performance indicators (SLAs)
- Apply and share best practices in underwriting and risk assessment
- Support knowledge transfer and training within the team
- Use underwriting tools and reference materials (e.g., RGA GUM manual, if applicable)
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of experience in underwriting (senior level)
- Experience in life, critical illness, and disability insurance underwriting
- Strong knowledge of underwriting principles, risk assessment, and decision-making
- Experience in high-volume, SLA-driven environments
- Focus on quality, consistency, and compliance
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Experience with process improvement and operational efficiency (asset)
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
- Familiarity with underwriting tools/manuals (e.g., RGA GUM) is an asset
