As a senior UX designer, you will bridge the gap between end-user needs, business requirements, and iterative product delivery cycles. Operating fully onsite in Toronto within an Agile, sprint-based environment, you will lead end-to-end design research, facilitate ideation sessions, synthesize research findings into actionable artifacts, and deliver production-ready information architectures, wireframes, and interactive prototypes. This position is ideal for an analytical design authority who can leverage modern design systems, apply accessibility standards, and drive user-centered innovation across digital platforms.

Responsibilities
Design effective, accessible, and visually compelling interfaces for web and mobile applications based on user interaction principles.
Facilitate end-to-end UX design research using diverse qualitative and quantitative methods, including user interviews, diary studies, usability testing, A/B testing, card sorting, and usability metric tracking.
Synthesize complex research findings into clear, insightful documentation, such as user personas, customer journey maps, service blueprints, and affinity maps.
Lead design ideation, workshops, and alignment sessions with cross-functional stakeholders, developers, and product leads.
Deliver core UX artifacts, including information architecture, sitemaps, user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and interactive prototypes in Figma.
Design overall product functionality and rapidly iterate digital interfaces in response to user testing and feedback.
Utilize established enterprise design systems and component libraries to build consistent, scalable user experiences across devices.
Identify complex usability bottlenecks and formulate elegant design solutions within legacy environments and technical constraints.
Collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and QA specialists to ensure design feasibility and seamless product implementation.
Present design strategies, research synthesis, and wireframes clearly to diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Qualifications
Core Requirements & Technical UX Experience
UX/UI Design Expertise: Proven experience in a Senior UX Designer, UI Designer, Interactive Designer, or equivalent role designing complex web and mobile applications.
Design Research Facilitation: Demonstrated experience conducting mixed-methods research (user interviews, diary studies, usability testing, card sorting, A/B testing, tracking metrics) and synthesizing insights into service blueprints, personas, and journey maps.
Figma & Prototyping Proficiency: Expert-level proficiency with Figma for interface design, wireframing, and creating interactive prototypes.
Design Systems & Architecture: Practical experience designing interfaces using structured design systems (such as the Ontario Design System or comparable enterprise frameworks).
Agile & Product Lifecycle Knowledge: Deep understanding and practical experience working in sprint-based Agile environments across iterative product lifecycles (Discovery, Agile, Beta, Live).
Preferred Assets
Accessibility Standards: Knowledge of digital accessibility testing and designing to satisfy WCAG 2.1 AA requirements.
Public Sector & Digital Standards: Prior experience in a public sector environment or working with formal digital service standards.
Stakeholder Alignment: Strong track record leading design workshops and navigating complex stakeholder approval processes.
Soft Skills & Collaboration
Communication & Synthesis: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate design rationales and research findings concisely.
