Mold Set-Up & Changeovers: Execute safe and timely mold installations and removals using overhead cranes and proper rigging practices. Connect hydraulics, water lines, thermolators, and auxiliary units according to setup sheets. Verify alignment and safety interlocks prior to startup.
Machine & Line Preparation: Configure molding equipment and auxiliaries (dryers, loaders, chillers) for upcoming production runs. Conduct material changeovers and verify mold protection settings and cleanliness standards.
Technical Collaboration: Partner directly with Process Technicians to prep machinery for startup, ensuring proper documentation and setup logs are completed.
Inspection & Maintenance Support: Inspect molds, clamps, and utility connections during changeovers. Assist with minor mechanical adjustments, maintain organized mold storage areas, and report tooling issues.
Continuous Improvement & Safety: Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols, crane operations, and 5S standards while actively working to optimize changeover times.
Personal Attributes: High attention to detail, strong commitment to workplace safety, and the physical capacity to manage lifting, bending, and mold handling on a 12-hour shift rotation.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Experience: 2–4 years of hands-on experience performing mold changes and setups on plastic injection molding machines.
Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated capability operating overhead cranes, rigging equipment, and reading basic setup/tooling documentation.
Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with molding auxiliary units including dryers, thermolators, and chillers.
Education & Certifications: High School Diploma (OSSD or equivalent). Forklift and/or overhead crane certifications are considered strong assets.
Personal Attributes: High attention to detail, strong commitment to workplace safety, and the physical capacity to manage lifting, bending, and mold handling on a 12-hour shift rotation.
