Service Technician

Are you an experienced Maintenance Technician or Mechanic with strong high-voltage electrical skills who thrives on working independently?
We are seeking a Field Service Technician to join a premier, long-standing supplier of industrial food processing and bakery machinery across the GTA.

This role is ideal for an autonomous troubleshooter who enjoys tackling live diagnostic challenges in the field while having the stability of a clean, day-shift schedule and dedicated shop support.

Straight Day Shift: Consistent Monday–Friday schedule with no steady night rotations

Responsibilities
Live Diagnostics & Repair (35%): Respond to emergency breakdown calls at commercial bakeries and food manufacturing plants. Troubleshoot 480V/600V 3-phase power circuits, motor control centers (MCCs), VFDs, transformers, and heating elements.

Preventative Maintenance (25%): Inspect and service heavy machinery including industrial dough mixers, deck/rack ovens, proofers, chillers, slicers, and automated conveyor systems.

Field Travel & Customer Service (20%): Drive to client facilities across the GTA, act as the technical face of the brand, manage work orders, and clearly explain repair plans to site managers.

In-Shop Rebuilds (10%): Overhaul, assemble, and custom-fit components (gearboxes, pneumatics, drive lines) at the Mississauga facility using precision tools.

Paperwork & Technical Support (10%): Log job notes, trace electrical schematics/PLC I/O status lights using digital multimeters, and report worn parts for replacement.


Qualifications
3-Phase Electrical Diagnostics: 3+ years of experience working safely with high-voltage industrial systems (480V/600V), VFDs, control panels, and reading ladder logic/schematics.

Mechanical Aptitude: Proven experience maintaining drive chains, belts, gearboxes, bearings, and pneumatic/hydraulic components.

Autonomous Work Ethic: Ability to work independently in the field, diagnose complex faults solo, and make real-time technical decisions under operational pressure.

Driver’s License: Valid Ontario G driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Education & Assets: Millwright (433A) or Electrician (309A/442A) license is an asset, but strong hands-on industrial mechanical/electrical troubleshooting experience is strictly required. Experience with commercial bakery or food-grade production equipment is a huge plus.
