We are currently hiring a Shipping Clerk for a well-established distribution company in Oakville. This role will be coordinating shipments and issuing necessary documents such as air waybills, bills of landing, and carrier instructions. The ideal candidate will have experience with ERP (either AS400 or Dynamics 365 is preferable), previous logistics experience and enjoy working in a fast paced environment. A great attention to detail and strong organizational skills are beneficial to this role.

Advantages

· Monday to Friday 7:30am - 4:00pm with possibility of overtime

Responsibilities
· Utilize the internal ERP system, to facilitate transportation planning and scheduling.
· Uses PC and AS400 based applications to generate bills of lading, and invoices.
· Track shipments from pick-up through delivery so that accurate, up-to-date information can be provided regarding any shipment, update on transportation system.
· Issue necessary industry documentation, air waybills, bills of lading, carrier instructions based on mode of transport required.
· Able to communicate with drivers to ensure smooth delivery of freight in a timely manner.
· Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as purchase orders, or invoices, to verify accuracy of shipment.
· Co-ordinate and arrange all container activities upon arrival.
· Manages the receiving, inspection, and processing of incoming goods in a warehouse.
· Track and order all courier supplies.
· Invoice orders after shipping.
· Document and address receiving discrepancies.
· Co-ordinate, schedule and arrange inbound and outbound shipments.
· Calls/faxes/emails carriers for pick up scheduling.
· Validates all bills of lading have been signed correctly and turned back in by drivers.
· Files/Scans bills of lading if necessary.
· Creates/prints necessary daily reports for the department utilizing Microsoft Office and AS400 applications.
· Schedules and sets up export shipments and provides support.
· Processes export documentation – create commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, and shipper's letters of instruction for air, ocean and ground exports complying with regulations and procedures.
· Ensure copies of export documentation are sent to the correct distribution list and file documentation as required.
· Maintain a business partner database.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· 1-2 years of experience in shipping/logistics coordination
· Strong knowledge of shipping documentation and carrier processes
· Experience with warehouse management or ERP systems
· Able to lift up to 50lb periodically
· Steel toe shoes are required
· Excellent organizational and communication skills
· Ability to manage priorities in a high-volume setting
