Responsibilities
As the Site Coordinator, you will wear multiple hats to ensure projects are executed flawlessly. Your core duties will include:
Estimating & Analysis: Reviewing architectural and structural drawings to prepare precise material take-offs for project pricing and bid preparation.
Project Monitoring: Tracking daily construction activities, site progress, and project KPIs. You will regularly report on delays, holdbacks, and overall status to the Project Management (PM) team.
Site Coordination: Collaborating with both internal crews and external partners to ensure all field activities align with the master project schedule.
Quality Assurance & Control (QA/QC): Inspecting installed rebar and structural components to ensure compliance with approved shop drawings. You will generate QA/QC documentation, document before/after site conditions with photographs, and issue non-conformance reports when necessary.
Technical Review: Evaluating project specifications and blueprints for accuracy, compliance with Canadian building standards, and practical installation feasibility.
Field Support: Assisting the Lead Foreman with daily schedule planning, material coordination, and tracking scope changes on site.
Health & Safety: Promoting a safe work environment by assisting with H&S compliance, coordinating harness/equipment inspections, and documenting any observed safety gaps.
Administration: Maintaining rigorous document control on-site, tracking rental equipment usage, and ensuring that necessary tools and accessories are adequately stocked.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will possess:
A Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering or a closely related technical discipline.
A minimum of 1 year of practical experience in construction estimating or project coordination.
Strong proficiency in reading, interpreting, and analyzing structural and architectural drawings.
Excellent spatial awareness with the ability to easily visualize complex structural elements.
Exceptional mathematical aptitude coupled with a meticulous eye for detail.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to exercise independent judgment to solve field issues.
The ability to remain organized, gather critical data, and produce accurate reports under tight deadlines.
A valid driver's license and a reliable personal vehicle for regular site travel.
