This role is perfect for an apprentice who is ready to advance their skills by working on complex, precision-focused industrial fabrication projects.
Based out of our Nisku operation, you will contribute to the fabrication and assembly of cutting-edge jacketed piping systems and large-scale custom builds requiring exceptional accuracy and mechanical discipline.
In this position, you will serve as a technical contributor responsible for ensuring quality, durability, and leak-free performance across all mechanical assemblies and specialized fabrication tasks.
Pay: $28.00/hour
Hours: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Responsibilities
Jacketed Piping Fabrication & Installation:
Execute the accurate assembly and on-site installation of intricate custom jacketed piping systems. Read and apply P&ID and General Arrangement (GA) drawings to ensure layouts and configurations align perfectly with engineered plans.
Pressure Testing & Mechanical Integrity:
Apply strong knowledge of controlled bolt-up techniques and hydrostatic pressure testing to verify that all systems meet strict high-pressure performance and safety requirements, maintaining flawless quality standards.
Precision Fabrication & Rework:
Carry out detailed fabrication work, including proper threading, torque application, and corrective adjustments to ensure perfect alignment and fit. Build specialized jacketed piping spools with a high level of accuracy and craftsmanship.
Module Assembly & System Build-outs:
Support skid/module fabrication activities, assisting with the installation of valves, pipe supports, and monitoring or control equipment as part of larger integrated industrial assemblies.
Quality, Safety & Performance:
Contribute to a culture centered on precision, safety, and high standards. Deliver consistent, top-tier workmanship while operating efficiently in a fast-paced, fabrication-focused environment.
Qualifications
Mandatory Certification:
Applicants must currently be registered as a 3rd-Year Apprentice Pipefitter to qualify for this opportunity.
Technical Competency Expectations:
This position requires proven experience working with precision and accuracy in advanced fabrication and assembly environments. Successful candidates will possess practical, hands-on capabilities in the following key areas:
Flange Fit-Up & Bolting:
Demonstrated skill performing precise flange alignment and bolt-up activities on high-pressure systems, maintaining integrity and compliance with tight tolerances.
Pressure Test Execution:
Experience preparing, conducting, and interpreting both pneumatic and hydrostatic pressure tests, ensuring proper documentation and verification of system performance.
Victaulic Systems Knowledge:
Ability to correctly identify, fit, and install Victaulic gaskets and components, guaranteeing secure and reliable mechanical sealing.
Component Sizing & Selection:
Competency in choosing correct gasket and stud dimensions to match flange specifications and pressure requirements.
Torque Accuracy:
Proven ability to apply precise torque settings according to engineering guidelines to achieve safe, leak-free joints.
Industrial Fabrication & Assembly:
Solid grounding in building and installing complex piping systems and mechanical assemblies within industrial environments.
Drawing & P&ID Interpretation:
Ability to read and confidently interpret detailed P&IDs, fabrication drawings, and technical blueprints to support accurate system construction.
Professional Qualities:

Additional Expectations:
