This role is ideal for an apprentice who wants to continue building technical mastery while working on intricate, precision-based fabrication projects.
Working out of our Nisku fabrication facility, you’ll be an essential contributor in constructing jacketed piping assemblies and supporting major industrial builds that require accuracy, mechanical skill, and strict adherence to safety standards.
You’ll be directly involved in producing tight-tolerance, leak-free mechanical assemblies and participating in advanced fabrication processes designed to meet rigorous quality and performance expectations.

🕕 Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM

Responsibilities
Jacketed Piping Fabrication & Installation
Carry out accurate fabrication and on-site installation of specialized jacketed piping assemblies. Review and interpret P&IDs, GA drawings, and routing details to verify that all joints, connections, and layouts meet engineering and project specifications.
Pressure Testing & System Verification
Apply strong knowledge of proper bolt-up procedures and hydrostatic pressure testing to validate system reliability. Ensure all high-pressure components adhere to stringent safety guidelines, performance expectations, and leak-prevention requirements.
Precision Fabrication & Component Alignment
Perform technical tasks including threading, controlled torque application, fine alignment work, and minor fit-up modifications. Build jacketed spool sections with exceptional precision, maintaining high craftsmanship standards throughout.
Module Assembly & Mechanical Integration
Support the construction of modular units and skids by installing supports, valves, fittings, and instrumentation within multi-component assemblies, ensuring seamless mechanical integration across the system.
Quality, Safety & Workmanship Standards
Demonstrate strong dedication to producing accurate, reliable work while upholding all safety practices. Contribute to a productive, hazard-aware environment and maintain consistent quality in every stage of fabrication.
Qualifications
Required Certification
Applicants must be officially enrolled as a 3rd-Year Apprentice Pipefitter to qualify for this position.
Core Technical Competencies
This position requires solid, practical experience with mechanical assembly and precision fabrication. Ideal candidates will be able to demonstrate strength in the following disciplines:
Flange Alignment & Bolt-Up
Ability to perform precise flange alignment and bolt-up on high-pressure piping, maintaining strict tolerances and ensuring durable, reliable connections.
Pressure Testing Proficiency
Hands-on experience preparing, executing, and evaluating both hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests, including accurate documentation and verification of results.
Victaulic Piping Systems
Working knowledge of Victaulic-style piping, including correct gasket selection, placement, and installation to achieve tight, leak-free joints.
Component Sizing & Selection
Skilled in choosing the correct studs, bolts, and gaskets based on pressure classes, flange ratings, and engineering specifications.
Accurate Torque Application
Demonstrated capability applying torque to exact values to support consistent, secure, and leak-free mechanical joints.
Industrial Fabrication Background
Experience assembling or installing complex mechanical or piping systems in shop, industrial, or construction settings.
Technical Drawing Interpretation
Ability to confidently interpret P&IDs, blueprints, and other technical drawings to guide accurate fabrication and installation work.
