This is a 15 month contract - hybrid, in downtown Toronto.

Responsibilities
-Lead, plan, and execute internal audit and advisory projects within established timelines and budgets
-Assess risks and develop audit scopes and programs to evaluate internal controls
-Conduct and review fieldwork and complex test procedures
-Draft well-structured audit reports including executive summaries and risk assessments
-Oversee and participate in SOX/Mar compliance planning, walkthroughs, and testing
-Mentor and supervise junior team members throughout the audit process
-Leverage data analytics to enhance audit effectiveness and coverage
-Demonstrate initiative and independent judgment in handling assignments
Qualifications
Must-Have:
-6–8 years of internal audit, risk management, or consulting experience
-In-depth understanding of audit methodologies, risk frameworks, and regulatory standards
-Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
-Demonstrated ability to work efficiently across diverse teams and business units
Preferred:
-Prior experience auditing within insurance or financial services sectors
-Previous work with Big 4 audit firms or large multinational corporations
-Experience managing or supervising senior auditors
-CPA (Canada, US, UK, Ireland, Australia) or relevant international auditing credentials
-CIA, CISA, or other audit-related certifications considered an asset
-Familiarity with data analytics tools is a plus
