Responsibilities
Manage multiple sourcing and development projects simultaneously
Use planning tools to track progress, resolve issues and ensure timely delivery
Identify, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers from China
Understand cost structure, quality benchmarks and supply chain dynamics
Continuously scouts for alternative suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and
reliability
Understand material selection, production processes and market trends
Build long-term, value-driven relationships with suppliers
Act as a liaison between internal teams and external vendors
Keep up with industry innovations, competitor offerings and emerging technology
Evaluate supplier risk, regulatory compliance and logistics factors
Ensure supplier performance aligns with company standards and timelines
Place orders and issue purchase orders to international suppliers
Update information in the ERP system
Track orders in an international context (freight, transport, lead time, custom,
duties, inspection)
Monitor inventory levels to avoid overstocking or understocking by making
informed purchasing decisions
Optimize cost while maintaining the desired quality and standards
Prepare reports on purchasing activities, costs and performance metrics
Qualifications
10 years or more experience in a similar role – essential
You must have done a lot of sourcing in China
Perfectly bilingual – essential
Knowledge of Chinese - asset
Knowledge of materials and construction industry – asset
Degree in Procurement Management - asset
Has a great sense of organization, dynamic approach and excellent autonomy
Ability to execute in a fast-paced environment
Strong negotiation skills
Results oriented and goals oriented
Has a great knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
Experience with an ERP system
Player involved, motivated and determined to grow with the company for the long
term.
