Responsibilities
Safely fit, assemble, and weld structural steel components utilizing FCAW and SMAW processes.
Read and interpret structural blueprints and fabrication drawings to guarantee precise, high-standard builds.
Safely operate standard shop tools and heavy equipment, including cutting torches and overhead cranes, for material preparation.
Partner closely with fitters, fabrication team members, and Quality Control specialists to uphold strict standards.
Actively engage in our proactive safety culture, including performing routine hazard assessments.
Qualifications
Trade Certification: Certified Journeyperson or registered Apprentice Welder.
Certifications (Asset): Valid CWB all-position welding tickets (FCAW/SMAW) are strongly preferred.
Experience: Demonstrated background in a structural fabrication shop, ideally with hands-on experience in heavy structural steel or skid assembly.
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in blueprint reading, layout execution, and tolerance-critical fit-ups.
Professional Attributes: Detail-oriented, highly dependable, and driven by a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
Logistics: Reliable personal transportation to and from the Acheson facility.
