Responsibilities
In this Tax Accountant role in Downtown Toronto, you will be responsible for the following:
- Prepare corporate income tax filings along with all supporting schedules and documentation.
- Facilitate tax audits by organizing and submitting required information and managing ongoing communication with tax authorities.
- Maintain and analyze tax-related general ledger accounts, including preparing reconciliations and posting journal entries.
- Act as the initial point of contact for inquiries related to tax from internal departments, auditors, and external advisors.
- Compile and evaluate data for regulatory tax reporting and assist with projection models.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls related to tax processes and maintain up-to-date documentation in line with corporate governance standards.
- Support tax planning efforts and forecasting by conducting research on legislative changes, industry developments, and strategic business initiatives.
- Contribute to the development and review of quarterly and year-end tax provision calculations and associated financial statement disclosures.
- Assist in the creation and delivery of tax-related presentations to internal teams and business partners.
Qualifications
We are looking for the following for this Tax Accountant role located in Downtown Toronto:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Canadian Tax laws and regulations, preferably in Ontario
- A bachelor’s degree in either business administration or accounting.
- CPA Designation is required.
- Experience working with SAP or other large accounting systems/ERPs is a requirement.
