Position: Tax Operations Analyst
Competitive Salary
Location: Toronto, ON
Standard: 9.5, 7.5 hours daily, 37.50 weekly
4 days onsite 1 day remote (Wed./Thurs. are a must)
12month contract (Potential of extension/Conversion)

Responsibilities
•Ensure local compliance of tax obligations (compliance, advisory, planning) regarding the identification, tax treatment, withholding and reporting of transactional and operational taxes, particular to the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), OECD Common Reporting Standards (CRS), Chapter 3/61, related Section Codes 305c, 302 etc, Hire Act (871m), Qualified Intermediary (QI), etc.
•Undertake day to day activities of the Toronto Tax Operations Team for company CM business Units, which includes, but not limited to, key-in critical Tax Information; assist with Tax Ops projects; and respond to ad hoc requests.
•Work actively with company Tax group to ensure that clients and entities are classified / certified correctly, and that relevant documentation is completed to achieve appropriate taxation reportability classifications and with holdability rates.
•Establish a best practice approach in ensuring that clients, counterparties and internal business partners receive appropriate attention and that all queries are responded to and resolved in a timely fashion.
•Ensure team, and related processes are kept up to date with changing tax regimes as they apply to company CM businesses and clients.
•Assisting in the completion of audit preparedness planning and execution.
•Develop reporting and ensure provision of weekly, monthly and annual KPIs and KRIs.
•Support all system testing and drive changes to improve process efficiency.
•Ensure procedures are regularly maintained and updated for all processes.
Qualifications
Must-have Skills/Experiences and/or Education, certifications, qualifications, designations:
•University degree or College Diploma or any equivalent combination of qualifications and/or experience.
•Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Excel)- especially Excel (analysis, performance work)
•Strong organizational and time management skills.
•Problem Solving /Analytical Thinking.
•Diplomacy and tact to deal with staff and all levels of internal and external clients.
•Developing a culture of continuous self-development.
Nice-to-have
•Knowledge of FATCA, CRS and IRS regulations
•Knowledge of W8 and W9 series form
•French speaking
Soft skills:
•Strong organizational and time management skills.
•Problem Solving /Analytical Thinking.
•Diplomacy and tact to deal with staff and all levels of internal and external clients.
•Developing a culture of continuous self-development.
