In this critical execution role, you will take immediate ownership of a cross-functional project portfolio focused on enterprise application maintenance and foundational software enhancements. You will act as the central delivery pivot point, supporting dedicated squads of engineers while serving as the primary liaison to global headquarters (HQ). Your daily focus will balance standard Scrum/Agile ceremonies with meticulous, manual project tracking, risk mitigation, and strict alignment with institutional compliance guidelines.
Duration: 6-Month Contract (Possibility of extension is likely based on performance and roadmaps)
Work Arrangement: On-Site / Hybrid (4 to 5 days per week on-site at the Vancouver, BC corporate office).
Advantages
Global Scale Exposure: Gain direct experience managing project alignments and governance pipelines with a multinational technology headquarters.
Direct Leadership Mentorship: Benefit from an immersive, comprehensive onboarding program featuring dedicated, direct knowledge transfer and delivery support from senior engineering leadership.
Stable Delivery Mandate: Own mature, established maintenance projects that provide a stable environment to hone your engineering delivery skills.
Strong Pathway for Continuity: Maximize your visibility in a growing B2B business unit with high project volumes and an active reliance on contract talent.
Responsibilities
Engineering Support & Project Governance
Squad Coordination: Provide dedicated, daily delivery support to 2–3 assigned software engineers per project. Facilitate standard sprint ceremonies, stand-ups, backlog grooming, and retrospective sessions.
Blocker Removal & Risk Ownership: Actively identify, document, and triage technical risks, system dependencies, and timeline bottlenecks to keep engineering velocity unblocked.
HQ Compliance & Process Adoption: Learn, internalize, and strictly enforce the intricate, established governance procedures required by international corporate headquarters, ensuring zero tolerance for administrative anomalies.
Manual Data Tracking & Analytics Reporting
Granular Project Tracking: Execute high-fidelity manual data entry and tracking matrixes. Maintain custom documentation pages and status tables to track project health without solely relying on automated software dashboards.
Status Telemetry Reporting: Compile and deliver comprehensive weekly progress reports outlining project tracking metrics, upcoming schedules, and milestone achievements to leadership.
Methodology Blending: Balance modern Scrum/Agile practices with legacy Waterfall delivery schedules, matching business specifications with practical, data-driven timeline estimates.
Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 3 to 5 years of progressive professional experience operating as a Technical Project Manager, Scrum Master, or Technical Delivery Specialist within a dedicated technology company.
Technical SDLC Foundation: A solid technical background with a firm understanding of the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), engineering practices, and Quality Assurance (QA) verification processes.
Project Tool Competency: Proven hands-on experience mapping project schedules, milestones, and dependencies inside Jira and Asana.
Infrastructure Literacy: Foundational knowledge or exposure to cloud services landscapes (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and core microservices environments (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, MongoDB) is highly desirable.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a structurally related technical field.
Soft Skills & Attributes: Meticulous attention to detail (highly crucial for cross-border leadership reporting). Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to communicate effectively with distributed, multi-site, and remote engineering teams under tight timelines.
