We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically-minded professional to join a premier national distributor of industrial fluid handling solutions. In this role, you will serve as the technical architect for the Finishing Division, focusing on powder coating, liquid finishing, and adhesive systems. You will not just be selling a product; you will be designing integrated solutions that keep Canadian infrastructure and manufacturing moving.
...
As the Technical Sales Systems Specialist, you will bridge the gap between complex customer requirements and high-performance engineering. Working in tandem with the Business Development team, you will lead the "discovery" phase—conducting deep-dive consultations to understand throughput needs, regulatory constraints, and spatial limitations. You are the subject matter expert who translates these needs into comprehensive AutoCAD layouts and robust technical proposals.
Beyond the initial design, you will own the project lifecycle. This includes coordinating with world-class Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to source components, building precise estimation models in Excel, and managing the project through to final delivery. Whether it is troubleshooting a complex spray system or ensuring a new oven installation meets safety standards, your expertise ensures our clients receive a seamless, turnkey experience. This is a career-defining role for a technologist who enjoys the intersection of mechanical design, project management, and client-facing consultation.
Advantages
Stability & Tenure: Join an organization where the average employee stay is over 10 years; we invest in long-term career paths.
Competitive Compensation: Robust base salary complemented by a performance-based bonus structure.
Expert Environment: Work with industry-leading brands and high-tier equipment in the oil & gas, mining, and power generation sectors.
Collaborative Culture: A supportive team atmosphere that prioritizes professional development and technical excellence.
Responsibilities
Solution Design: Lead technical "Gameplan" meetings to capture customer constraints and design integrated finishing lines (booths, conveyors, spray systems).
Technical Quoting: Develop accurate budgetary and firm proposals using advanced estimation tools and AutoCAD plant layouts.
Project Management: Act as the primary point of contact from sale to completion, managing project charters, timelines, and scope control.
OEM Liaison: Coordinate with global manufacturers for technical data, specialized pricing, and equipment configurations.
Internal Expert: Provide high-level troubleshooting support for the service team and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards.
Data Integrity: Manage the full project lifecycle within the NetSuite ERP/CRM to ensure accurate forecasting and documentation.
Qualifications
Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, or Industrial Engineering Technology.
Certification: A CET (Certified Engineering Technologist) designation is highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2 years in industrial paint finishing, powder coating, or complex fluid handling systems (e.g., food/beverage or packaging lines).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD and advanced MS Excel for building estimation models.
Systems Knowledge: Ability to interpret P&IDs, electrical schematics, and production layouts.
Software: Experience with ERP/CRM systems (NetSuite is an asset).
Competencies: Strong "systems-thinking" ability to see how individual components (ovens, sprayers, etc.) integrate into a workflow.
