Working directly alongside a regional sales representative, the successful candidate will engage with prospective clients to evaluate facility requirements, process constraints, and target production outputs. Day-to-day duties involve evaluating plant specifications to select appropriate machinery, drafting equipment layouts in AutoCAD, securing component pricing from equipment manufacturers, and building comprehensive technical proposals.
Beyond sales support, this position carries end-to-end responsibility for awarded contracts. This involves tracking schedules, coordinating vendor deliverables, updating project parameters in NetSuite, and producing technical documentation upon job completion. The role also provides technical guidance to internal field service crews and customers during system troubleshooting. The position requires a solid grounding in fluid dynamics or industrial mechanics, strong software proficiency, and the ability to interpret technical engineering drawings.

Responsibilities
Conduct technical discovery with clients to gather system requirements, plant constraints, and throughput goals
Design complete surface finishing systems, including spray booths, application equipment, ovens, and conveyances
Draft technical sales proposals, perform bill-of-materials estimating, and create plant floor layouts in AutoCAD
Obtain component pricing from original equipment manufacturers and assist sales leads in client discussions
Manage post-sale projects from order placement through final turnover, tracking milestones, scope changes, and project documentation
Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance for internal service personnel and customer teams
Maintain accurate sales pipeline, project status, and client records within NetSuite CRM/ERP
Qualifications
Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Process, or Industrial Engineering Technology.
Certification: A CET (Certified Engineering Technologist) designation is highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum 2 years in industrial paint finishing, powder coating, or complex fluid handling systems (e.g., food/beverage or packaging lines).
Graduation from a recognized Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical, or Manufacturing Engineering Technology program
Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) designation is considered an asset
Minimum 2 years of technical experience with industrial powder coating, liquid finishing, or fluid transfer lines
Working knowledge of fluid mechanics, hydraulics, or processing machinery
Proficiency in AutoCAD for plant layout design and Microsoft Excel for system estimating
Experience using ERP/CRM software (NetSuite preferred)
Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics, and mechanical specifications
Familiarity with major industrial spray and fluid handling equipment manufacturers
