As a Trade Specialist, your central objective is ensuring full compliance with CBSA regulations. This business administration role involves classifying goods using Harmonized System (HS) codes, preparing import/export documentation, calculating duties, and leveraging agreements like CUSMA. You must possess the unique ability to offhand outline how to categorize items for customs assessment manually, without relying on computer programs. You will ensure smooth cross-border operations, functioning as a vital link between suppliers, internal teams, and customs brokers. By monitoring changes in customs laws and analyzing in-house systems, you will implement solutions for complex customs matters and drive continuous process improvement.

Advantages
• Competitive salary of $75,000 to $95,000 per year.
• Permanent, full-time business administration position with a Monday-Friday schedule.
• Hybrid setup requiring 3 days working directly from the client's downtown Toronto office.
• Professional, low-hazard office environment.
• Opportunity to specialize within a Customs Brokerage and Consulting department.
Responsibilities
• Act as the primary, constantly client-facing representative at the client's office in downtown Toronto.
• Ensure compliance with import/export regulations and manage daily shipment clearances.

• Classify products using global systems and confirm complex HTS codes with the Global Trade Compliance team.
• Communicate with suppliers, internal teams, and customs brokers to resolve entry issues.
• Handle post-entry requests, CBSA compliance verification, and post-audit requirements.
• Monitor customs laws, assess risks, and implement solutions for routine and complex matters.
• Support AMR customs compliance processes and analyze systems for process improvement.
Qualifications
Skills
• Ability to manually outline customs categorization offhand without software assistance.
• Exceptional client-facing communication skills for continuous on-site representation.
• Proficient in analyzing regulations, complex data, and process improvement.

• Competence in cross-functional collaboration and relationship building.
Requirements
• High School Diploma and a Customs Certified Specialist (CCS) designation are strictly required.
• 5-7 years of experience in Customs Compliance, Customs Consulting, or related areas.
• High comfort level with being constantly client-facing while representing the company on-site.
