We are hiring a Transportation Coordinator for a large transportation organization in Kitchener, ON. This is a temporary position for approximately 3 months to start with a possibility of extension. This position is fully onsite in Kitchener, ON. A valid driver’s license as well as reliable transportation is required. Occasional travel to Woodstock and Ayr locations may be required (compensation for milage is provided).

Steady regular hours, Mon to Fri – 8am to 5pm, with a 1-hour lunch (shift is subject to change to afternoons if contract is extended).

Responsibilities
Process customer orders and optimize shipments into efficient loads; tender freight to third-party carriers and provide direct guidance to driving associates.
Monitor trucks for pick-up, estimate arrival/delivery times, and manage load recovery to ensure 100% on-time delivery.
Maintain real-time accuracy in the Transportation Management System (TMS); complete daily logs and trackers.
Perform payroll and tractor audits, handle invoicing, and manage spot-rate negotiations with carriers.
Investigate load exceptions, troubleshoot operational issues, and research alternatives to ensure cost savings for the customer.
Act as the central hub for information, providing detailed updates to customers and internal teams via phone and email.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Supply Chain Management is preferred
Two (2) plus years of experience in Transportation/Supply Chain/Logistics is preferred
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize time sensitive situations in a fast paced environment.
Familiarity with Fleet Management software is an asset.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Strong customer focus - ability to develop and maintain professional working relationships with customers as well as internal associates.
Strong organizational skills and written and verbal communication skills.
