Responsibilities
- Assess and evaluate life insurance applications (medical, financial, lifestyle)
- Determine risk classification, coverage, and pricing decisions
- Analyze complex cases and supporting documentation
- Collaborate with advisors and internal teams to deliver timely decisions
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulations
- Contribute to process improvements and team best practices
- Bilingual FR/ENG is an asset
Qualifications
- 5+ years of individual life underwriting experience
- $3M+ life underwriting signing authority
- Strong knowledge of medical, financial, and risk assessment
- Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Experience with reinsurers is an asset
- Industry designations (FALU, FLMI, etc.) are an asset
