The Business Banking VMO Specialist acts as a strategic thinker and thought leader, driving the business forward by managing complex third-party relationships. You will lead inherent risk assessments, monitor vendor performance through advanced reporting/dashboards, and manage the timely renewal and negotiation of critical contracts. This role requires a sophisticated understanding of contractual verbiage and a strong control-mindset to navigate a complex compliance framework.

Responsibilities
Third-Party Risk & Governance
TPRM Lifecycle Management: Facilitate all phases of the Third-Party Risk Management Lifecycle, ensuring full compliance with TPRM policies, standards, and frameworks.
Inherent Risk Assessments: Accountable for the timely completion of Inherent Risk Assessments for new and changing third-party relationships, securing approvals from key stakeholders.
Risk & Issue Management: Track and escalate vendor issues per TPRM requirements, partnering with the business to drive and document remediation plans.
Audit Readiness: Collect and assess audit documentation (e.g., SOC I/II, CSAE3416) to remediate gaps; ensure organized storage of evidence for internal and external audit readiness.
Contract & Relationship Management
Contract Negotiation: Lead and facilitate the contract renewal process, working closely with Legal, Sourcing, and Business partners to ensure agreements mitigate risk and maximize business value.
Legal Language Expertise: Interpret contractual terms and conditions and their commercial implications to ensure adherence to requirements.
Performance Monitoring: Monitor vendor performance via reporting and governance routines, developing SLAs and compliance monitoring plans that enhance efficiency.
Operational Oversight & Financials
Spend Monitoring: Closely monitor vendor costs, identifying opportunities for cost-effectiveness and tracking trends against budget forecasts.
Financial Operations: Provide oversight for invoice processing, including billing, rebates, and performance-based adjustments.
Tool Proficiency: Utilize and maintain data within vendor management tools such as Hiperos, Enterprise Spend Portal (ESP), and Enterprise Contract Management (ECM).
Qualifications
Mandatory Requirements
Experience: 5+ years of dedicated Vendor Management experience, specifically managing third-party relationships.
Risk & Control: 5+ years of experience in a Governance, Control, or Risk Oversight function.
Contractual Expertise: High level of comfort with legal language and the ability to fully interpret complex contract contents.
Communication: Exceptional negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills at all organizational levels.
Education: Undergraduate degree (UG) required.
Preferred Qualifications
Industry Background: Prior experience within the Banking or Financial Services industry.
Sourcing Knowledge: Familiarity with formal sourcing processes and methodologies.
Technical Tools: Experience with platforms such as Ariba, Coupa, Archer, or Hiperos.
