We are seeking two experienced Procurement Managers (Sourcing & Contracting) to join a dynamic, 18-member Enterprise Procurement team. In this role, you will lead high-impact, end-to-end procurement initiatives—unifying strategic sourcing and direct legal contract negotiation into a single, cohesive function.
...
You will manage the entire commercial and contractual lifecycle from business intake, strategy formulation, and competitive market events (RFP/RFQ/RFI) through to redlining, direct contract negotiation with vendor legal counsel, and execution. Operating within a large, regulated enterprise environment, the ideal candidate brings strong commercial acumen, deep experience independently negotiating contract terms, and the executive presence needed to present business cases and recommendations to senior leadership.
Term: 10-month contract (37.5 hours/week, standard business hours; strong possibility of extension or permanent conversion based on performance and business needs)
Location: Hybrid (4 days on-site, 1 day remote with flexible anchor days) — offices in Downtown Toronto (Bremner Blvd) or Mississauga (Tahoe Blvd)
Compensation: $55 - 57/hour
Advantages
Enterprise Transformation Impact: Play an integral role in an ongoing procurement operating-model evolution, gaining exposure to modern enterprise procurement practices and tools.
Unified Lifecycle Ownership: Drive both strategic commercial deals and legal contracting end-to-end rather than being siloed into a single phase.
Technology Exposure: Opportunity to work with industry-standard sourcing platforms (SAP Ariba, Coupa) and upcoming modern Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) systems.
Collaborative Team Environment: Join an established, supportive team of 18 professionals with clear performance metrics and streamlined 2-step virtual interview turnaround.
Responsibilities
End-to-End Deal & Sourcing Leadership
Manage complex procurement initiatives across their full lifecycle—from stakeholder intake through strategy formulation, market evaluation, approvals, and contract execution.
Determine and execute optimal sourcing methodologies, including competitive RFPs/RFQs/RFIs and sole-source strategies.
Lead multiple high-priority initiatives concurrently, managing competing timelines and stakeholder deliverables.
Prepare and present business cases, sourcing recommendations, and commercial summaries to executive leadership and spend approval committees.
Commercial & Legal Contract Negotiations
Independently negotiate both commercial pricing structures and complex legal terms (e.g., limitation of liability, indemnification, IP, data privacy, warranties) directly with supplier legal counsel and account executives.
Utilize and tailor enterprise contract templates across SaaS, Cloud, Professional Services, and General Corporate Services engagements.
Evaluate vendor proposals, conduct side-by-side analyses, and synthesize recommendations balancing cost optimization, operational risk, and delivery feasibility.
Risk, Governance & Control Integration
Navigate internal governance frameworks to ensure full compliance with Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM), Information Security, Privacy, Finance, and Regulatory requirements.
Exercise sound judgement to resolve contract redlines independently, escalating to internal Legal counsel only for high-risk exceptions or material deviations.
Present unresolved contractual or commercial deviations to governance and risk triage committees for review and sign-off.
Strategic Market Intelligence & Process Optimization
Provide category, technology, and market insights to internal business partners to guide purchasing decisions.
Leverage e-procurement platforms, spend data, and contract management tools to enhance workflow efficiency and audit readiness.
Participate in cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives, tool rollouts, and team knowledge-sharing sessions.
Qualifications
Required (Must-Have)
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Law, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or contract management.
End-to-End Execution: Proven track record independently executing full-cycle procurement deals from sourcing strategy through executed contract.
Direct Legal Negotiation: Hands-on experience reading, redlining (Word Track Changes), and directly negotiating legal terms and conditions with supplier legal counsel—not solely managing commercial rates or operational supplier performance.
Stakeholder & Governance Experience: Demonstrated success partnering with business stakeholders, Legal, Privacy, Information Security, and Enterprise Risk functions in a matrixed environment.
Tools: Working proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Word redlining and executive PowerPoint deck preparation).
Preferred (Nice-to-Have)
Direct industry experience within financial services or another heavily regulated sector.
Professional certifications in procurement, contract management, or supply chain (e.g., CSCP, CPSM, SCMP, CCMP, or legal background/LL.B./JD).
Category experience supporting Technology (SaaS, Cloud), Operations, or Professional Services engagements.
Working hands-on experience with SAP Ariba, Coupa, or modern Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) platforms.
Candidate Profile & Soft Skills
Negotiation & Commercial Acumen: High degree of autonomy when handling contract disputes, redlines, and commercial trade-offs.
Executive Presence & Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to and influencing senior stakeholders (~4 hours of collaborative meetings/day).
Prioritization & Agility: Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with the ability to maintain momentum across tight project timelines and service-level agreements (SLAs).
