Responsibilities
- Develop and design specifications for new or updated welding equipment, ensuring all components adhere to current CSA or ANSI codes.
- Provide technical support for all plant equipment and welding systems, troubleshooting and resolving issues as they arise.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on optimizing processes and reducing operational costs.
- Ensure all welds meet or exceed stringent customer quality standards and specifications.
- Support the production department by investigating and resolving issues related to welding machines and their programming.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to welding efficiency, inventory, and system performance.
Qualifications
- A 3-year advanced diploma in Manufacturing Welding Engineering – Robotic Technology is required, or relevant experience demonstrating a skillset in robotic welding.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in robotic welding is essential, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Experience with Panasonic, ABB, or a similar robotic welding system is considered a valuable asset for this Welder Technician/Engineer role.
- Possession of a CTECH or CET certification is also a valuable asset.
- Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot welding programs and maintain high standards of weld quality.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders.
