We are currently hiringa motivated Yard Shop Supervisor looking to make an impact in the Production Industry. This is a long-term opportunity, one that offers you long-term benefits, stable hours, and a competitive pay range! You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including helping machine operators prep and run machines to ensure orders get made and deadlines are met. You will be leading the production team to ensure that operations are running smoothly and consistently.
Shift: Monday-Friday
Time: 7am-3:30pm
Area: Aldergrove, BC
Starting at: 55K

Responsibilities
- Supervise, Co-ordinate and schedule daily activities of employees who produce
products to specified dimensions ensuring products can be completed meeting
customers & inter-departmental requirements.
- Ensure that all the products are produced while meeting the production
schedule, safety, product quality, packaging, and shipping requirements of the
company.
- Conduct and document daily workplace walks, inspect product quality, observe
for unsafe acts and conditions, and resolve workers safety concerns and
problems.
- Identify and implement work measures to improve work methods,
productivity, safety, and quality of products. Monitor KPI and measures for
record keeping accuracy.
- Participate in the company’s quarterly and annual inventory count.
- Promote teamwork and open communication within and across all work areas
and departments.
- Correct and communicate on any unsafe acts/conditions to the Production
Manager and locations Manager.
- Support and promote all aspects of IBP's Health & Safety program.
- Perform regular workplace inspections, both scheduled and unscheduled.
- Receiving, marking, and staging of steel coils
- Monitor steel coil inventory and finished goods inventory
- Counting, paperwork, quality control
- Loading and unloading material on trucks if necessary
- Operation of production equipment if necessary
- Housekeeping – ensure that the yard / shop are kept neat and clean
Qualifications
- Experience in a supervisory role is required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with production personnel,
order desk, customers, couriers and truck drivers.
- Strong organizational, time management and prioritizing skills.
- Heavy lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge and skill to operate a forklift (Certification required)
- Ability to work well as a team player in a fast paced environment
- Ability to train employees including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling
work assignments
