    Not at all. In fact, temporary job assignments are becoming more popular in Canada. They are an ideal way to gain experience at different organizations and learn new skills. Accepting temporary work also demonstrates that you are determined to seize new opportunities. Some job seekers also find that temporary work assignments allow them to experience a diverse range of workplaces, ensuring they're never bored.

  • how long do temporary assignments last?

    Temporary assignments will vary depending on the employer and the role. A temporary assignment can last as little as one day and be as long as 18 months. Common lengths for temp work assignments include 2, 3, 4, 6 and 12 months, though there's plenty of temp jobs that don't fit into any of these.

  • do I have to pay to work with a recruiter?

    No. Your recruitment consultant is paid by the companies that use Randstad to find talent. As a job seeker, you'll never pay for using Randstad to find a job.

  • do I have to accept a position proposed to me by my consultant?

    Not at all. Your Randstad consultant wants you to take a job that is in line with your capabilities, experience, and aspirations. We don't want you to accept a position that does not meet your expectations.

    If you do not think you will be able to finish an assignment, or if you're simply not interested in the job proposed by your consultant, we encourage you to explain to the consultant why the job is not the right fit. Our goal is to find you a job that excites you, that you're passionate about!

  • how do I book an appointment with a recruiter?

    To book an appointment with a recruiter, you can call the Randstad branch closest to you directly, or fill out our contact form.

  • how does finding a job through randstad work?

    Your Randstad consultant will present you with opportunities that match your skills and experience. If you're interested in one of the roles suggested to you, your consultant will present you to their client to be interviewed. If the client feels that you're the right fit for their company following their interview process, your Randstad consultant will help you negotiate your job offer and the terms of your placement, to ensure a fair process on both sides.

    Randstad takes measures to ensure that all our employees, including temp, part-time and contract employees, are paid fairly and have access to resources and information that will enhance their work experience with us.
