Our Calgary transportation client is seeking a talented individual to join their Quality Engineering and Testing team on an initial 6-month contract. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the success of numerous custom-built and SAP-based business applications throughout their testing life cycle. Responsibilities
• Coordinate SAP setup of test environments and proficiently manage test data for SAP SuccessFactors and SAP HR, enhancing expertise in key business domains like Payroll, Time, Org Management, and Personnel Administration.
• Evaluate and translate business software requirements into detailed test cases, ensuring functional and non-functional tests align with future business states and planned enhancements.
• Execute tests efficiently, recording results and defects meticulously, and facilitate defect review sessions for clear communication with development and business teams.
• Conduct peer reviews of test cases, suggesting improvements to enhance work product quality, while providing valuable input to testing estimates and progress reports.
• Participate in independent quality assessments and collaborate across delivery, development, test, and business teams to understand and support proposed application/system changes.
• Architect, design, and execute test plans throughout the software lifecycle, leading defect review meetings and managing the defect management process to ensure timely resolutions.
• Contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives and track IS quality metrics, striving to enhance the effectiveness of IS processes and delivery capabilities.
Qualifications
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience required;
• 6-8 years’ experience manual testing in SAP/Custom-based business applications;
• Automated or performance testing experience is an asset;
• 5 years’ experience as a Test Lead on large or multiple SAP/Custom projects
• Certification in Software Quality (American Society for Quality - Certified Software Quality Engineer) or equivalent experience;
• Familiarity in one or more than one of the technologies of networking, database, SAP and/or web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, JSP, ASP, ABAP, .NET, MQ, Oracle and SQL Queries during test execution.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience with HP ALM or similar test management tools. Experience with HP QTP or HP LoadRunner is an asset;
• Experience with Software Development Life Cycle for waterfall, iterative, agile and/or SAP ASAP project methodologies;
• Attention to detail and the ability to master new applications and technologies quickly;
• Professional presentation and demeanor as well as excellent customer liaison skills;
• Excellent communication skills (written, verbal);
• Proven track record in working collaboratively in a team;
• Ability to deal with ambiguity and fast paced software release cycles.
