In this senior advisory and development role, you will architect, build, and deploy enterprise-grade intelligent automation and autonomous AI agent networks. Operating within a highly governed and secure framework, you will champion modern development practices, introduce reusable components, and establish resilient software architectures. We are seeking a technical leader who combines profound backend engineering expertise with the ability to mentor teams, drive cross-functional alignment, and embody an organizational culture centered on excellence, collaboration, and client focus.

Responsibilities
Agentic AI & Automation Engineering: Architect and deliver robust automation products and multi-agent AI ecosystems integrated into core business operations. Build scalable Python services, asynchronous APIs, and complex workflows orchestrating state-of-the-art LLM frameworks (e.g., LangGraph, LangChain, CrewAI, Semantic Kernel, and emerging technologies).
Guardrails & System Evaluation: Establish sophisticated evaluation structures to mitigate hallucinations, ensure prompt reliability, and validate tool execution. Design policy-based routing, input/output validation, and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) frameworks, alongside implementing Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers.
Engineering Excellence & platform Standards: Author clean, testable, and highly documented code utilizing SOLID principles and clean architecture. Build for comprehensive operational observability (metrics, logs, traces, alerts) and design optimized, secure CI/CD pipelines.
Risk, Security, and Compliance by Design: Partner with security and governance teams to ensure all solutions comply with enterprise data classification, least-privilege access, and disaster recovery strategies.
Technical Leadership & Mentorship: Elevate the engineering team’s capabilities through rigorous code reviews, pair programming, and constructive feedback. Lead architectural debates, author Architectural Decision Records (ADRs), and guide stakeholder communication with composure.
Qualifications
10+ years of professional, full-lifecycle software development experience.
Expert-level mastery of Python and its ecosystem for enterprise-grade applications.
Deep proficiency in API design (RESTful, asynchronous services), integration patterns, advanced data structures, and algorithmic optimization for high scalability.
Rigorous background in automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, contract, and end-to-end testing) and robust Git-based version control workflows.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in Canada; prior local Canadian experience is a plus but not mandatory.
Our client operates in Canada. The company takes all reasonable steps to limit the number of positions in Quebec that require knowledge of a language other than French, and only requires it when necessary and its existing bilingual employees are unable to perform these duties. Based on an assessment conducted by our client, it has been determined that this position requires candidates to be fluent in English (both spoken and written). In particular, this position will require the employee to interact with centralized internal departments (e.g., Operations / HR / Finance / Legal / Contracts / Sales) that support the organization in Canada and that do not speak French.
