Responsibilities
As a Senior Estimator, your expertise will be utilized in the following key tasks:
Analyze plans and specifications for commercial tenant improvement projects.
Perform quantity take-offs (metering).
Evaluate and negotiate bids from specialized subcontractors (interior finishing, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, etc.).
Prepare detailed cost estimates including materials, labor, equipment, and profit margins.
Collaborate closely with Project Managers to understand specific tenant needs.
Identify potential risks.
Propose value engineering solutions to optimize project budgets.
Maintain and develop a reliable database of costs, suppliers, and subcontractors.
Participate in project start-up and follow-up meetings.
Qualifications
The ideal profile for this Senior Estimator role possesses the following qualifications:
Experience: 5 years or more of relevant experience in construction estimation.
Demonstrated Experience: Primary focus on retail commercial tenant improvement projects.
Ability: Excellent ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and excellent priority management.
Software Proficiency: Mastery of the Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Qualities: Sharp attention to detail, rigor, and great autonomy.
