Position Overview
- Pay Rate: $26.50 to $38.00 / HR (Compensation will be scaled based on your specific apprenticeship year and prior shop experience)
- Working Hours: Monday through Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM

Responsibilities
Core Responsibility: Main duties involve the structural restoration, rebuilding, and hard-facing of heavy industrial augers and associated drilling gear.
Equipment Operation: Set up and safely run welding equipment, closely following SMAW (Stick welding) processes and exacting engineering requirements.
Blueprint Reading: Review and correctly read structural blueprints, complex schematics, and standard industry welding symbols.
Material Prep: Perform essential material prep work, involving grinding, utilizing plasma cutters for component sizing, and accurately fitting parts prior to welding.
Quality Assurance: Ensure that all completed work fully aligns with CWB standards as well as the organization's strict internal quality control protocols.
Safety & Housekeeping: Keep the shop area clean and well-organized, while actively participating in all regular safety meetings and workplace hazard assessments.
Qualifications
Required Credentials: You must hold valid, current CWB certifications specifically for the SMAW process.
Background: Prior hands-on experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing, heavy industrial, or oilfield service shop is mandatory. Applicants with demonstrated experience in auger repair will receive highest consideration.
Trade Status: You need to be officially registered as either a 2nd-Year or 3rd-Year Welder Apprentice.
Safety Requirements: Any successful applicant is required to pass a standard, thorough pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
Availability: Must reside locally or be prepared to commute to Leduc each day, and be available to begin work within the next two weeks.
