Responsibilities
Heavy Wire Welding: Run high-volume FCAW and MCAW (flat position) on massive industrial builds while learning from veteran journeymen.
Structural Steel Assembly: Read shop prints to fabricate heavy I-beams, tower frames, and major steel components accurately.
Precision Jig Fabrication: Fit parts into custom jigs and use standoff techniques to consistently hit tight manufacturing specs.
Safety Leadership: Keep your work bay organized, run clean setups, and uphold rigorous safety standards so everyone heads home safe daily.
Qualifications
Apprenticeship Status: Currently registered as an active Alberta 2nd-Year Welder Apprentice with a clean record.
Experience Level: Around 2,000 bluebook hours and hands-on familiarity with fast-paced production shop environments.
Core Welding Skills: Strong hands-on practice running FCAW, MCAW, or MIG processes on structural steel plates.
Commute Radius: Resident within a 40-minute drive of Thorsby, AB with a reliable personal vehicle.
Bonus Advantage: Valid, current CWB tickets will fast-track your resume right to the front line for an interview.
