Responsibilities
Complete high-grade, X-ray quality B-Pressure welds across carbon steel and specialty alloy piping assemblies.
Execute heavy-wall pipe and structural joints conforming strictly to ASME Section VIII / B31.3 and CWB specs.
Read, interpret, and build directly from intricate structural blueprints, P&IDs, isometric drawings, and spool packages.
Diligently log weld metrics, heat numbers, and heat-treat records to guarantee total QA/QC traceability.
Drive high daily production output to smash project targets without ever compromising shop safety protocols.
Partner with fitters, riggers, and quality inspectors to ensure seamless shift handoffs and shop floor workflow.
Qualifications
Mandatory Ticket: Active Alberta Journeyman Welder Certificate combined with a current Alberta B-Pressure (F-Number) ticket.
Proven Track Record: Minimum 3+ years of code pipe welding across oilfield skid, vessel, or heavy industrial fabrication.
Process Expertise: Advanced proficiency in SMAW, GMAW, and MCAW applications (GTAW/TIG certification is a strong asset).
Test Ready: Prepared to clear a standard shop weld test (typically 6" Schedule 80 in 6G position) upon offer.
Trade Essentials: Must have reliable personal transport to Nisku, standard hand tools, and a personal welding helmet.
Safety First Mindset: Unwavering commitment to zero-harm operations, daily hazard assessments, and full PPE usage.
