Our Montreal-based client is looking for an accounting technician to join its team. Under the supervision of the Controller - Financial and Administrative Management, the technician will be primarily responsible for processing supplier invoices, customer invoicing, accounts receivable management and preparing month-end entries. He/she will also be involved in creating performance reports, notably on inventory and fuel consumption, delivery volumes by customer, and updating financial databases.

Responsibilities
➢Participate in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements including month-end adjusting entries and accounting account reconciliations;
➢ Ensure payment of supplier invoices including coding, monitoring approvals and creating payment batches;
➢ Prepare invoices for dispatch to customers and ensure collections;
➢ Follow up on prepaid expenses;
➢ Participate in the preparation of audit files;
➢ Prepare fuel consumption and inventory reports, update fuel market prices and produce volume delivered reports by customer;
➢ Update financial data on travel performance such as non-productive days (NPD) and direct expenses;
➢ Complete various government statistics reports;
Qualifications
➢ DEC in administrative techniques, accounting option, or equivalent experience.
➢ At least 3 to 5 years' experience in a similar position;
➢ Ability to combine teamwork with autonomy;
➢ An excellent sense of organization and work planning, as well as respect for deadlines;
➢ Proficiency and ability to work with MS Office software, particularly Excel and accounting software;
➢ Good command of spoken and written French - fluency in English is an asset.
