Responsibilities
-Draft and follow up on procedures and correspondence
-Prepare the usual procedures and other documentation required for the accomplishment of mandates
-Maintain up-to-date knowledge of rules and procedures
-Proactively support professionals in the management and follow-up of their files
-Ensure the maintenance of the agenda and files, including the management of the assigned professionals’ schedules
-Remind and follow up with current and potential clients in a professional and courteous manner
-Prepare the documentation required for the various events on the agenda
-Prepare the usual documentation, letters of offer, contracts, resolutions, notices, etc.
-Proofread and correct documents
-Prepare expense allocations
-Prepare documents relating to the incorporation, amendment of articles, amalgamation, continuance and dissolution of companies
-File documents with regulatory authorities
Qualifications
-Experience as a legal assistant, paralegal, or administrative experience in a legal firm, ideally in corporate law (corporate and transactional)
-College diploma in paralegal techniques (or equivalent), or DEC in legal secretarial work
-Proficiency in the Office suite;
-Fluency in spoken and written French and English
Strong customer service skills
-Excellent communication, organizational, collaboration, and teamwork skills
-Professionalism, independence, proactivity, and thoroughness
-Adaptability, openness to change, positivity, and flexibility
-Ability to work to tight deadlines, resourcefulness
-Thoroughness and attention to detail
