In this vital leadership role, you will work closely with the Production Manager to drive operational excellence, mentor floor supervisors, and ensure strict compliance with food safety and corporate regulations. You will act as the primary alternate in the Production Manager's absence, stepping up to take full responsibility for the department when required.

Responsibilities
Leadership & Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and coach the supervisory team to build leadership capacity across the production floor. Manage and review staff scheduling to ensure timelines are consistently met.
Operational Coordination: Partner daily with Shipping, Maintenance, Quality Control, and Sanitation managers to synchronize production outputs, manage equipment downtimes, and track inventory.
Efficiency & Quality Control: Review Daily Efficiency Reports (labor, yields, scrap rates, and ingredient giveaway). Investigate variances, conduct root-cause analyses for technical issues, and ensure all materials meet quality specifications.
Safety & Compliance: Enforce company rules, occupational health and safety (OHS) procedures, and regulatory standards (including BRC/HACCP). Organize Toolbox Meetings, conduct hazard assessments, and assist in creating SOPs for new equipment.
Floor Management: Monitor the tempering area for proper temperature specs and rotation. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe production floor by removing unused equipment.
Qualifications
Experience: A minimum of 8 years of experience working within a medium to large-scale food manufacturing environment.
Technical Expertise: Extensive hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting industrial manufacturing equipment, specifically industrial mixers and large commercial ovens.
Baking Knowledge: A strong background in baking with a functional understanding of ingredient functionality and process flows is highly preferred. Formal training in the Science of Baking, Leadership, or OHS is a significant asset.
Food Safety Standards: Deep knowledge of risk assessments, hazard principles (Biological, Chemical, Physical), and BRC/HACCP compliance standards.
Soft Skills: Exceptional time management, organizational skills, and a proven track record of motivating teams to meet established corporate goals.
Tech & Communication: Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Fluent in speaking, reading, and understanding English with strong documentation habits.
