We are seeking a Project Manager / Scrum Master to join a team working in a federated mode within a large organization. This hybrid role (approximately 70% Scrum Master and 30% Project Management) is essential for ensuring effective governance of data initiatives.
...
You will act as a facilitator for a team of about eight people while managing transverse projects. We are looking for a leader capable of challenging teams, consolidating information, and producing executive reporting, all while maintaining a pragmatic approach ("just enough").
This is a one-year contract (renewable). The position is remote, with occasional travel expected (Quebec City or Montreal) as needed.
Advantages
Occupy a central and strategic role within data governance.
Enjoy a stable mandate combining operational agility and strategic management.
Evolve in a diverse environment without vendor negotiation duties.
Work in a flexible hybrid mode.
Responsibilities
Act as a facilitator to help the team grow and create conditions favorable to performance.
Ensure the application of the Scrum, Kanban, or Scrumban framework and coach the team towards autonomy.
Support Product Owners in prioritizing the backlog and facilitating agile ceremonies.
Remove obstacles and protect the team from external interference to maximize productivity.
Produce reporting adapted to the context for executive levels.
Plan and facilitate steering committees to provide visibility on progress, scope, timelines, and risks.
Monitor budget for initiatives and actively participate in the quarterly review process.
Ensure proper allocation of human and financial resources in alignment with the roadmap and priorities.
Evaluate risks and ensure the implementation of action plans defined during retrospectives.
Qualifications
5 to 10 years of experience in project management, particularly in Business and IT contexts.
Minimum of 3 years of concrete experience in an Agile context.
Experience managing projects involving multiple stakeholders from various sectors.
Proven experience in budget management and capacity management.
Experience facilitating and presenting at the executive level.
Ability to perform effective reporting in both agile and traditional modes.
Knowledge of the LEAN philosophy.
Mandatory bilingualism in French and English.
**Our client operates in Canada. The company takes all reasonable steps to limit the number of positions in Quebec that require knowledge of a language other than French, and only requires it when necessary and its existing bilingual employees are unable to perform these duties.
Based on an assessment conducted by our client, it has been determined that this position requires candidates to be fluent in English (both spoken and written). In particular, this position will require the employee to interact with centralized internal departments (e.g., Operations / HR / Finance / Legal / Contracts / Sales) that support the organization in Canada and that do not speak French.**
Summary
We are looking for a hybrid leader (SM/PM) capable of navigating between team coaching and executive reporting. If you have strong experience in budget management, Agile, and governance, this mandate is for you.
