Responsibilities
-Manage full-cycle accounting operations, including AP, AR, Bank, Credit Card, and Prepaid reconciliations.
-Post daily entries accurately into the accounting system.
-Prepare and process weekly payroll.
-Prepare comprehensive month-end financial statements.
-Execute the year-end closing process, including preparing accrual journal entries and General Ledger account reconciliations.
-Prepare and file all required CRA returns, including HST, payroll taxes, EHT, and corporate taxes.
-Supervise the Account Receivables clerk and comfortably make direct calls to clients to collect overdue receivables.
-Complete other relevant accounting duties as assigned to support the team.
Qualifications
-Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
-Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience as a full-cycle Accountant or Bookkeeper.
-Industry Experience: Background working in construction, landscaping, or other project-based/job-costing industries is highly preferred.
-Software: Strong knowledge of Sage 50 accounting software is required. Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel and Office.
-Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the confidence and professionalism to conduct collections calls with clients.
