As the Territory Sales Manager for Ontario, you will drive strategic revenue expansion across the province, scaling the territory from a solid base of $1.5M toward $3.5M–$4M+. Operating with high independence, you will manage a hybrid sales model—selling directly to end-user trade contractors on active job sites and at corporate headquarters, while maintaining key distribution touchpoints with commercial building supply houses.
...
You will represent a full product portfolio spanning high-ticket capital equipment ($30,000+), mid-tier functional equipment ($5,000–$15,000), job-site supplies ($500–$5,000), and recurring aftermarket parts and service. With immediate product expansions into interior demolition and waterproofing equipment—followed by additional trade lines in 2027—this role offers continuous pipeline growth and uncapped earning potential.
Advantages
Competitive Base Compensation: $70,000 – $75,000 base salary based on experience.
Uncapped Performance Earnings: 1% uncapped commission on all capital equipment sales exceeding $30,000.
Quarterly Bonus Accelerators: $3,000 – $4,000 structured quarterly bonuses with multipliers up to 150% for target overachievement (Target OTE: $95,000 – $100,000+).
Dedicated Local Resources: On-the-ground support from local technical product specialists for equipment demonstrations and complex account onboarding.
High Professional Autonomy: Freedom to structure your daily travel, route scheduling, and sales strategy without activity-logging enforcement or micromanagement.
Portfolio & Market Expansion: Immediate access to newly introduced product lines in waterproofing and demolition, generating immediate account upsell opportunities.
Comprehensive Onboarding: 1–2 weeks of structured technical training at the corporate head office and factory, backed by ongoing support from regional sales leadership.
Responsibilities
Territory Expansion & Account Management: Rebuild, scale, and manage the Ontario territory, balancing new business acquisition with active account retention to meet and exceed annual growth targets.
Consultative Capital Sales: Conduct technical, consultative presentations for large machinery ($30,000+), engaging decision-makers to demonstrate site productivity gains and return on investment.
Dual-Channel Engagement: Cultivate direct relationships with end-user trade contractors while maintaining product placement and strong rapport with branch managers and counter sales staff across commercial supply channels.
Operational & CRM Discipline: Maintain self-directed daily routing, structured account follow-ups, and pipeline tracking to ensure consistent coverage without requiring close micromanagement.
Technical Product Demonstrations: Collaborate with local Product Specialists to execute live machinery demonstrations, site walk-throughs, and technical sales handoffs.
Field Presence & Regional Travel: Execute route coverage focused primarily (~75%) on the Greater Toronto Area (Mississauga, North York, surrounding regions), alongside ~20% overnight travel across broader Ontario markets (Ottawa, London, Windsor, Sudbury). Attend occasional US trade shows.
Qualifications
Technical B2B Sales Track Record: 5+ years of successful field sales experience in capital equipment, commercial tools, building envelope materials, or industrial equipment distribution.
Consultative Selling Expertise: Proven ability to manage complex, high-ticket capital sales ($30,000+) alongside high-turnover transactional products and aftermarket replacement parts.
Regional Market Knowledge: In-depth familiarity with the commercial contractor landscape across the GTA and Southern Ontario.
Autonomy & Route Management: Exceptional self-organization, disciplined time management, and a track record of driving results as an independent territory manager.
Versatile Buyer Communication: Ability to build trust across diverse buyer personas—from field foremen and site contractors to branch counter staff and corporate executives.
Travel Credentials: Valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, a valid passport for trade show travel, and willingness to perform ~20% overnight travel across Ontario.
Summary
This role is tailored for a technical sales professional who excels at consultative selling, territory expansion, and building lasting relationships with both trade contractors and commercial supply networks. You will inherit an established territory base with significant expansion runway, supported by direct technical specialists and a brand-new regional facility featuring a showroom, warehouse, and local office operations.
