Direct involvement in strategic procurement and supplier negotiation initiatives
Responsibilities
Establish, contribute to, and continually improve procurement processes, including purchasing, receiving, and procurement accounting in compliance with policies and regulations.
Direct and coordinate the selection and purchase of materials, equipment, and supplies using MRP reports to ensure proper inventory levels.
Obtain supplier quotations, analyze market data, and secure competitive bids to achieve cost savings.
Manage vendor databases, establish favorable contract agreements, and resolve delivery or billing issues efficiently.
Schedule production requirements for processing materials and oversee inventory accuracy across locations.
Review daily receiving slips, approve invoices for payment, and maintain necessary quality compliance documentation.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field, OR 3 to 5 years of related procurement experience/training (or equivalent combination).
Strong analytical, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proven proficiency in spreadsheet management, database tools, and computer networking/systems.
Strong numerical aptitude with the ability to calculate rates, ratios, percentages, and interpret inventory data.
Demonstrated ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business journals, technical procedures, and financial reports.
