Class 1 Off-Road Specialist: Heavy Haul & Winch
Location: Nisku, Alberta
Compensation: $35.00 – $37.00/hour + Premium Overtime
Status: Full-Time, Permanent (Day Effective from Day One)
The Mission:
...
While the average driver relies on smooth pavement and cruise control, we operate in a completely different world. We are actively hunting for elite, top-tier Class 1 heavy-haul operators who truly thrive once the asphalt disappears. Our specialty lies in hauling essential industrial machinery, oversized process piping, and massive structural steel components into punishing, remote environments. If you possess the unmatched skill to secure intricate loads and battle through deep muskeg at 2:00 AM to keep a job site running, we want you on our team.
Advantages
We deeply respect the intense demands of off-road industrial hauling, and we compensate our expert operators accordingly:
- Immediate Permanence: Forget the probationary limbo; you are a permanent, highly valued employee from your very first shift.
- Massive Earning Potential: Thanks to our extensive fleet and non-stop 24/7 dispatch, you will have access to consistent, high-volume hours and abundant overtime opportunities.
- Accelerated Perks: Unlock comprehensive health benefits and secure two full weeks of paid vacation after completing just four months on the job.
- Long-Term Wealth: Plan for your future with our 3% employer RRSP matching program, which kicks in after your first year of service.
- Elite Equipment: We maintain a massive inventory of Winch Trucks, Bed Trucks, and multi-axle trailers (Jeeps/Boosters) to ensure you have the right tool for every move.
Responsibilities
Advanced Deck & Winch Operations: Go far beyond standard driving by expertly operating winch trucks and secure diverse loads like pressure vessels and structural skids.
Extreme Terrain Navigation: Successfully pilot heavy equipment through tight bush roads, muskeg, and whiteout blizzards to reach remote lease sites.
Over-Dimensional Loading: Masterfully calculate and execute load securement protocols for oversized freight using specialized equipment like step-decks, trombones, and double-drop trailers.
On-Call Availability: Our clients operate 24/7, you must maintain a highly adaptable mindset, ready to tackle out-of-town assignments, evening runs, and weekend deployments on a flexible basis.
Qualifications
Extensive Track Record: You must bring a minimum of seven (7) years of verifiable Class 1 commercial driving experience, specifically emphasizing off-road navigation, winch truck operation, and flat-deck hauling.
Flawless Abstract: Hold a completely valid Class 1 Commercial License paired with a clean commercial driver's abstract with no major moving violations.
Uncompromising Safety: To support our strict "Zero Incident" mandate and gain site access, you must carry current, valid tickets for Standard First Aid, TDG, and H2S Alive.
Physical Stamina: You must be highly capable of throwing heavy chains and managing rigging in the harshest Alberta elements.
Problem-Solver Mindset: We enforce a "No-Whiners" culture. We are looking for seasoned professionals who show up ready to work, instantly troubleshoot field challenges, and execute the job safely and flawlessly.
Summary
If you're tired of fleets that treat you like a simple steering-wheel attendant and desire a crew that truly honors your specialized field expertise, it is time for a change. Partner with an organization deeply committed to uncompromising service, indigenous partnerships, and operational integrity.
