Responsibilities
- Setup & Operation: Safely setup and operate CNC mills, lathes, or routers to produce precision components adhering to tight tolerances.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret schematics, shop drawings, and production sheets to set exact machining parameters.
- In-Process Quality Checks: Conduct regular quality checks using precision measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, height/depth gauges).
- Material & Production Management: Load raw stock safely and monitor automated machining cycles from start to finish.
- Routine Maintenance & Safety: Perform minor tool changes, basic troubleshooting, routine equipment checks, and maintain a safe, clean workspace.
Qualifications
- Experience: 1+ years of hands-on experience running CNC equipment in a job-shop or manufacturing setting.
- Technical Skills: Confident reading blueprints and understanding basic GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Inspection Tools: Skilled with standard precision measuring tools (micrometers, calipers).
- Physical Requirements: Comfortable standing for full shifts and able to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Dependability: Strong track record of attendance and reliable transportation to Brantford.
