Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines (mills, lathes, or routers) to perform precision machining operations.
- Load raw materials into the machines and monitor the production process to ensure smooth operation.
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and job specifications to determine dimensions and tolerances.
- Perform regular quality checks using precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, gauges) to ensure parts meet strict quality standards.
- Troubleshoot minor machine issues and perform routine tool changes or adjustments as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work station adhering to all health and safety protocols.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience operating CNC machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints and a solid understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Precision: Proven experience using measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Adaptability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs comfortably and stand for extended periods.
- Reliability: Strong work ethic, punctual attendance, and reliable transportation to the Brantford area.
- Asset: Previous experience with specific controls (Fanuc, Haas, Mazak) or basic G-code editing is a major plus!
