Responsibilities
- Minimize income tax expenses and exposure through effective tax planning and appropriate documentation.
- Manage corporate and indirect tax audits and litigation processes to reduce potential liabilities.
- Ensure timely calculation and accounting of tax obligations in accordance with IFRS and internal reporting standards.
- Oversee preparation and submission of tax returns and ensure remittances comply with federal and provincial requirements.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with indirect tax regulations (Federal and provincial taxes, import duties).
- Provide tax guidance related to business transactions and changes in tax legislation.
- Review and prepare transfer pricing documentation and ensure alignment with internal policies and external standards.
- Supervise and support the Income Tax Analyst, contributing to their development and performance management.
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- 3 to 5 years of experience in corporate taxation, including indirect tax.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- CPA designation or completion of the In-Depth Tax Course is considered an asset.
- Experience with transfer pricing is an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Tax Prep software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with tax research platforms (e.g., Thomson Reuters, Carswell, CCH).
- Working knowledge of SAP modules.
- Bilingualism (French and English) is required due to regular communication with internal and external stakeholders across Canada and internationally.
