Responsibilities
- Verify the description of each style on commercial invoices (incoterms, values, deductions, TT vs. certificate of origin, etc.) and send documents to the customs broker to obtain clearance;
- Communicate regularly with the customs broker;
- Verify received customs declarations and approve them for the finance department;
- Identify errors and necessary adjustments, then follow up on B2 forms;
- Compile additional supplier invoices in an Excel file and declare them to customs;
- Approve brokerage invoices;
- Track surpluses and shortages per shipment and declare them to customs.
- Know and navigate the CBSA CARM portal, daily check notices posted on the portal;
- Support the finance department by answering their questions and generate financial reports for internal audits.
- Participate in various projects (e.g., D365, customs audit);
- Stay up to date on regulatory changes to ensure compliance;
Perform any other related tasks.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in MS Office 365, with an intermediate level in Excel;
- College diploma or CCS (Certified Customs Specialist) certification; •
- 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar position (customs brokerage, importing);
- Knowledge of HS tariff codes;
- Intermediate level English; the person will be required to communicate daily with internal and external suppliers;
