Responsibilities
Collaborate on the architectural transition and migration of core enterprise billing modules to cloud SaaS platforms.
Design, build, test, debug, and document clean, scalable Java-based applications and APIs.
Evaluate technical requirements, produce accurate workload estimations, and deliver high-quality code aligned with industry standards.
Partner closely with Business Analysts, Quality Assurance engineers, and cross-functional teams in an Agile environment.
Actively engage in developer forums, peer code reviews, and process optimization initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
At least 2 years of hands-on software engineering experience using Guidewire software solutions.
Strong background in object-oriented development utilizing Java.
Superior analytical skills, structured problem-solving capability, and a collaborative mindset.
Preferred Assets:
Guidewire technical certifications.
Direct experience with Guidewire Cloud SaaS, BillingCenter, or major platform upgrades/migrations.
Familiarity with Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, Git, Cucumber, and RestAssured.
Exposure to CI/CD pipeline integration, Agile workflows (JIRA/Confluence), and the Property & Casualty insurance industry.
Our client operates in Canada. The company takes all reasonable steps to limit the number of positions in Quebec that require knowledge of a language other than French, and only requires it when necessary and its existing bilingual employees are unable to perform these duties. Based on an assessment conducted by our client, it has been determined that this position requires candidates to be fluent in English (both spoken and written). In particular, this position will require the employee to interact with centralized internal departments (e.g., Operations / HR / Finance / Legal / Contracts / Sales) that support the organization in Canada and that do not speak French.
