Responsibilities
As a Project Manager on the Monitoring team, you will be responsible for the following key areas:
- End-to-End Project Delivery: Own project timelines, budgets, and quality standards from award to closeout, ensuring all obligations are met under our standardized execution processes.
- Client Relationship Management: Serve as the primary client contact, ensuring proactive communication, transparency, and trust. Uphold our corporate commitment to respond to all client inquiries within a four-hour window.
- Financial Accountability: Own the project P&L, tracking budgets, change orders, invoicing, and accounts receivable while ensuring target gross margins are met through disciplined scope management.
- Team Coordination & Leadership: Lead and align internal delivery partners—including Operations Leads, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Analysts, and Coordinators—to achieve efficient, standardized project execution.
- Scope Control & Risk Management: Identify and escalate project risks, delays, or resource constraints early to leadership. Formally document and communicate all scope changes.
- Quality & Compliance Oversight: Ensure all deliverables meet regulatory standards, corporate standard operating procedures, and our strict two-signature QA/QC policy while promoting a robust health and safety culture.
- Reporting & Documentation: Oversee the preparation and delivery of reports, data dashboards, and regulatory submissions using standardized digital systems and project management tools.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Program Managers, Operations, and Sales to ensure seamless client handoffs, pipeline visibility, and continuous improvement of proposal estimating practices.
- System & Process Discipline: Utilize internal digital project management software for scheduling, reporting, and communication to guarantee data integrity.
- Cultural Leadership: Model corporate core values, mentor junior staff, share lessons learned, and cultivate a performance-based, collaborative team culture.
- General Support: Execute any other reasonable activities required by management and leadership to support team success.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following education, experience, and competencies:
- Education: Post-Secondary Degree or Diploma in Instrumentation Technology, Civil, Mechanical, Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience: Proven field experience in construction, civil/mechanical engineering, water/wastewater technology, environmental technology, or related environmental sectors.
- Technical Skills: Strong technical troubleshooting capabilities and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with digital project tools; familiarity with AutoCAD is considered a strong asset.
- Certifications: A valid driver’s license is required. Confined Space Entry certification and additional industry-related certifications are highly valued.
- Soft Skills: An organized, self-motivated individual with strong initiative, meticulous attention to detail, and an outgoing, team-oriented personality.
- Commitment: A dedicated focus on client satisfaction, responsiveness, and the delivery of high-quality scientific work.
