Responsibilities
Finance
- Financial Reporting: Deliver high-level narratives on company performance, providing the President with clear insights into margins, overhead, and overall profitability.
- Month-End & Year-End Closing: Own the full closing cycle, streamlining processes to move from "data collection" to "strategic analysis" with speed and precision.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Transform business goals into financial roadmaps, analyzing variances and forecasting trends to act as an early-warning system for risks.
- Local Process Management: Oversee the "heartbeat" of the office—optimizing cash flow via AP/AR, ensuring payroll accuracy, and maintaining rigorous tax and regulatory compliance.
- External Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for banks, auditors, and tax authorities, building the trust and transparency necessary for a healthy fiscal reputation.
- ERP Implementation: Play a lead role in the transition to a new ERP system, ensuring financial workflows are optimized and data integrity is maintained throughout the migration.
IT
- Infrastructure & Support: Ensure the smooth functioning of local hardware and software, minimizing downtime for both the administrative team and the production floor.
- Group-Wide Coordination: Act as the bridge between global "Group" IT initiatives and local operations, ensuring new systems are adopted successfully and tailored to the plant’s specific needs.
- Process Modernization: Identify and implement digital tools that lean out manual administrative tasks and improve data accessibility across the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a CPA designation (an asset).
- Experience in an accounting firm and industry.
- 5 to 10 years of experience in accounting
- Bilingualism (French and English)
Note on English Proficiency: Based on an assessment conducted by our client, it has been determined that this position requires candidates to be fluent in English (both verbal and written). Specifically, the employee will need to collaborate with and provide necessary support to colleagues and business functions located outside of Quebec who do not speak French.
